Happy New Year! 🥳
For years, I was guilty of doing the same thing, writing down my goals. Sure, I wasn’t making videos about them, but I’d jot them down as if that was the magical key to success.
This year, though? It’s different. I’m not writing down any goals. Why?Because, honestly, I never look back at them. And let’s be real, I rarely achieve them either.
Take the classic “start training” goal, for example. Did you know most people give up on that one before January’s even over? The biggest reason? They go all out right from the start, setting huge expectations instead of keeping it simple and achievable.
Training has been one of my goals for years too. Sometimes it works, and sometimes… well, it doesn’t. More recently, my goals have shifted toward art, things like drawing outdoors or learning new techniques. But even with those, I never manage to follow through. And guess what? I never look back at the list.
So, this year, I decided: no goals. And, to be honest, I’m loving it. 😁
Even though my goals were meant to be year-long projects, giving me plenty of time to accomplish them, I just don’t want that pressure anymore. That said, I did write down a loose “2025 plan.” Not goals exactly, but more like a guide to focus on a few key things without overwhelming myself.
For example, instead of trying to tackle every idea that pops into my head, I’ll focus on manageable tasks, like working on a weekly newsletter or creating YouTube videos when I actually have something to share.
This kind of plan gives me a clear overview of what I want to do without getting lost in a million ideas. I’ve got a bad habit of trying to do everything at once, and this approach helps me slow down. I hope.
It also means I can focus on what matters, learning and having fun with my art. I don’t have to film everything; sometimes, I can just snap a few photos and share them with you through my newsletter.
So, no goals for me this year. But what about you? Are you still writing down goals? Or are you ready to try something new?

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
I haven’t set goals yet but I think I will. I’m bundling them with intentions and values and I will phrase them in a way that don’t feel rigid and like pressure.
I think what’s most important for me actually is the process of sitting down and thinking through my priorities and plans. The goals are simply an outcome of that exercise.
Question for you: how are you going to remind yourself of your plan throughout the year? I find that the hardest part - checking in on goals / the plan on a regular basis.
No goals for me either! I write down ideas and inspirations for game and art, but no goals.
