This is so true and so sad that there are professionals out there that are completely oblivious. In NT fashion no less. I'm really glad you shared your story. ADHD runs in our family, my son is diagnosed and he has a lot of trouble starting new things like drawing. There's an energy involved, I think, in trying to start something new that you need to overcome and it's not a dopamine rush because you might not be good at it and then the RSD kicks in.

But this is such a great thing to keep in mind. Thank you again for sharing.

I saw a post on Twitter few years ago that said:

A person without ADHD procrastinate stuff they dont want to do.

A person with ADHD procrastinate stuff they want to do.

The reason we do procrastinate is because something puts us off. Like gathering all the tools. But some times it just happens! 😊

Yep, there are many 'slow', natural things we can do to help motivate us!

Also, what kind of rubbish ADHD expert was that?! Our most typical and challenging trait is that we struggle to do things, even if we'd really like to 🤦‍♀️

I know right!

Had this person because I wanted know more about my ADHD (something I never got when I got the diagnosis). She was not good 🤣

Blimey. What a shame, because this person will put people (who really need help!) off of support 🙁

So true, but she does belong to so called ASD team. My guess they have much better people on this topic. But because I was within this team, I got her.

Have asked for the real ADHD school and will get it hopefully during autumn.
