What’s up!
After almost 2 months I’m finally done with my first book of the year.
Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal.
Why it took so long was not because of the book itself. I just had a hard time in life.
Over all the book was pretty okey. Some things stands out more than others.
The book is mostly about you being productive in a healthy way. And I’m all for it.
Sadly I cannot come with any from the book, because I don’t remember what I read.
Even if some things do stand out, I still forget.
It’s a ADHD, ASD & Dyslexia thing. Cant help it.
Its why my book review is very short and fast.
The researchers were trying to investigate what effect curiosity had on people’s minds. For one thing, the researches had a hunch that when people were curious about something, they remembered the details better. They were right. The study showed that people were a whopping 30% more likely to recall a fact they found interesting, rather than a fact they found boring.
🌿Updated ArtWod Review
Earlier this year I wrote a review of ArtWod [Going Back to Live Streaming!]. A art learning site that I bought a yearly subscription of during Black Friday last year.
Well a while after that I got access to the whole site! So I thought I would write a little updated review of it all.
Before I had the Premium version that unlock all the courses and few class rooms. And two WOD and Portfolio Cycles.
With Pro I unlock everything. More classrooms stuff and able to request feedback from everything!
Pretty neat.
But is it worth the extra? Maybe.
If you doing it to unlock all the videos. Then no. It’s not worth it.
The hidden videos behind Pro Wall are mostly different drawing techniques. And some talks.
They are not worth the money.
If you want to have feed back on everything you do on the site. Yea. That is worth the money.
When it comes to feed back, you can request it once a week.
And it takes some time before they even give you it. But it’s understandable. I’m not alone requesting feedback!
As of this writing, it took 9 days to receive feedback. And it was real good one too! Written text about what to think about. And a showing how to do it. I did send in my skull feedback and I kind of knew what they would focus on. But still happy over the respond. 😊
With Pro you also unlocks all the WOD and Portfolio circles.
What does that mean? Well you unlock those that already been done. With other words you unlock 3 past cycles.
And those can be real fun to do even if you cant request feedback after the deadline is passed.
You can still earn points from making them.
I can tell I’m loving Artwod! Way more than Schoolism. And that says a lot!
Easy to follow the videos. Sure some assignments are very hard to understand for little me. But maybe not for you.
So if you want to sign up for ArtWod I would recommend Premium. You unlocks all the courses.
Pro if you REALLY need that feedback.
Other wise, just upload what you making in the Discord server for other people to see :D
If you are a traditional artist, drawing courses will work just fine. Painting courses on the other hand, wont.
I recommend Aaron Blaise ”How to Paint Light” course instead.
🌿My Art Journey
So Dagligverksamhet (Daily activities) finally got the paint I used. And tested it out. Not that they ordered many variation of one color, its more all over the place. Kind of hard to come up with ideas.
I did a lot of spray paintings before I moved, even uploaded videos about it on Youtube.
But since I moved, I have been unable to do it. Kind of fun getting back into it again.
I’m trying to be more messy in my sketchbook. And also use a pen over pencil. So I cant erase it! Just go with the flow.
Some times it works great, others not so much.
Somehow I speed it up! Like I’m doing a 2min sketch session. Something I really dislike doing, because I never get happy with it.
But I’m trying to slow down. Not easy when you have ADHD that is in 200km/h at all times. But I’m trying, that is whats counts, right? 😊
(2nd Image) Did this cute little Chibi Whale in Affinity Designer during a live stream this week. Kind of regret for not using my new brushes I bought recently. Because I’m liking them! Finally found a sketching brush!
(1st Image) I just felt like drawing a Bear, screaming. Or is he roaring? Who knows 😁 Did use the Rebelle 7 for it. And planning on doing a real video review of it. Seeing it now here, I’m little happy over it 🥲
🌿The Art of Assassin’s Creed Origins
"The Art of Assassin's Creed Origins" is a visually stunning exploration of the creative process behind the development of the video game.
Authored by Paul Davies, the book provides a detailed look at the conceptualization and design of the game's characters, landscapes, and overall visual aesthetics.
It delves into the artistic choices made by the development team, showcasing concept art, character designs, and scenic landscapes.
The book not only appeals to fans of the Assassin's Creed series but also serves as a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of video game artistry.
How many books have you read so far this year? And what did you read?
