Why I Changed My Blog Name
From The Howling to The Wandering Wolf, and what it means for my art and photography
What’s up, folks, and happy Easter!
I really hope you haven’t eaten too much candy, so you don’t end up having to visit the dentist. I had to go last week, but not because of candy. One of my teeth just went “highwire.” Luckily, they didn’t find anything, so here we are. 🫠
You might have noticed something when you opened this email. You might have thought, “Who the hell is the Wandering Wolf?” Well… it’s me. Jezz, I’m still here. I just renamed my blog, newsletter, and podcast from The Howling Newsletter to The Wandering Wolf. Was it maybe The Howling Wolf before? No? I don’t remember. 🫣
Anyway. I’ve had The Howling Newsletter as a name ever since I started this Substack. I think it was at the very end of 2022, because after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, they shut down Revue I had going before. I never grew anything there, luckily, so I moved to Substack. At that point, I didn’t really know what to call it, so The Howling just stuck.
But now… I felt like it was time to level up. Go from rookie level to champion.
Nothing has actually changed. It’s still the same old me, trying to get better with each post and podcast I upload. The same art journey, the same photographic journey, but I’ll be doing more photography from now on, actually.
I know my first post earlier this year didn’t really do well, but I still liked it a lot. Recently, I got a new lens for my Sony ZV-E10 camera, so I can try photographing more wildlife, birds and stuff. I want to share that journey too, because it’s a huge inspiration for my art.
So, that’s the plan. I’ll take it as it comes, the ups, the downs, all of it. Like art itself, you know? Behind the scenes, some weeks I’ll write, and other weeks it’ll be more podcast-style. One crossroad at a time. My path is unknown. I have no idea where it’s leading me. Try and error.
And I really hope you’ll stay with me on this journey, to continue leveling up together.
