Wants up!
So after 14 years or so I have decided to stop using social media.
Why should I keep posting every single day. Get few likes here and there.
One new follower that never interacts again.
And to get a random dopamine hit.
I have always been the person that want to grow on all platforms at once. Reach at least 1k follower. Finding some kind of fans that will support my art.
But it’s not working. It did not work in school. I was bullied there, they even told me to kill myself.
So when social media aint working, well you feel that worthlessness…
And to be honest, there is too many platforms out there.
⬛️ Twitter: Suspend people that don’t break the rules.
⬛️ BlueSky: Is full of Left-Wing that hates Right-Wing
⬛️ Instagram: See people you don’t follow. And Ads everywhere!
⬛️ Threads: Just the same copy and past posts. And also complain about Instagram reach.
⬛️ Facebook: Urgh.
⬛️ Vero: Full of beautiful photography. How Instagram once were.
⬛️ TikTok: Too much China.
⬛️ Youtube: Dont see it as a social platform
So no more social media. Sure I might post something now and then. And also check back in to see companies like Procreate coming with something new.
But to try to grow, no.
I might post more regularly on Vero. I’m liking that place. How Instagram was before all shit broke lose. (Not addicted to it)
Other wise, its here on The Howling, Youtube, Discord or Buy Me A Coffee that you can reach me 😁
Not a big fan of Cal Newport but this video says it all
❄️Too Much Info at Once
Having inspiration is good. But what do you do when you get too much of it?
Everyday I see new art from different artists. Every day I get new inspiration on art styles I wanna try out.
Everyday it get too much…
I want to try that, and this…. Instead of just trying to slow down and try to learn one. But I blame my ADHD for this.
That brings in too much info instead of slowing down.
That never hit the breaks. Only the gas in 200km/h at all times.
It can be too much that I get a headache in the end.
Not knowing what kind of artist I am.
When you see other artist or creative people in general. They mostly just use one and the same platform.
Doesn’t matter if they are 2D artist, animators, 3D, photographers and so on. They use mostly one software.
Example 2d Artist might use Photoshop. 3D Artist Blender. Animators TV Paint, Photographer Lightroom.
They use the same software, and they master it.
I use too many software. That have different brush systems, with different effects and so on. Making it hard to have the same kind of style in them all.
If I hit that break, I need to start using same software. Or a technique that works in all platforms. That I can re create no matter what.
So instead of using all my software’s I’m planning on just focus on two. Procreate and Rebelle. Designer if I want to explore some Vector art.
If I just focus on these two, and try to ignore all the others. Something might happen. But it’s hard, because my brain getting fed with new info. And new ideas pops up.
I need to slow down and start learning one thing. Instead of doing cell shading in one. Expressive work with oils in the next and so on.
Even if I see something really beautiful in one type a style, I need to learn to hit that break.
The reason I want to use all my programs is because I did buy them for a reason. And don’t wanna waste the money. But at the same time, not all platform will work the way I want them too.
❄️My Art Journey
Another week has passed and nothing much has happen. Other than that I had plenty of headache and even panic attack… Sucks! And Not sure what it causing it.
Trying to do the beginner courses over at ArtWod and also checking out the whole site. Now that I have access to it all. A new updated review will come, for sure!
(First Image) I bought new brushes for Affinity Photo (Before my little break down that you read above) And tried them out during a stream. Might get use of these brushes in the future. Had different plan form the start with both Koromon and Demiveemon. But did not work.
(Second Image) Did a little figure studie along with trying to nail down a rendering style that will work on both drawing software’s. Did this in Procreate. And the reference is form a new pack I bought from Grafit Studio.
Also a new video is out 😁
❄️League of Legends: Runeterra
Yes I played League of Legends. Do I recommend it? No I do not.
They did release a card game called Legends of Runterra that might be little better.
If you are into card games.
But what about this book? Well I’m liking it. Beautiful art. And a lot of stories!
You get to know the places more with this companion.
The thing is, this book will help me with my own world building. For sure!
Like LoL? Well This books is for you!
Are you still using Social Media? If yes, whats is the reason?

Just focus on Substack, Jezz. I tell people all the time to just focus on one platform and master that before moving on to something else. There's a lot of opportunity here to grow and I'm hopeful for the future of this place! I'm subscribing. You're a great artist. Keep it up.
