Hello!
The Spring weather has really hit Sweden the past week.
Ever heard of Vero: True Social?
Well it become popular back in 2018 by artist. Artists that said ”yes, a photo app that is better than Instagram!”
2 weeks later those artists went back to the app they all hated…. Like wait what?!🤦♂️
Well I have stayed and used it on and off over the years. And the reason I liking it because of the beautiful photography it has!
A lot of them do inspire me to draw them in my own way. And I just love this kind of inspiration. Another thing I love about this app is that, I’m not addicted to it. Not like I was with Instagram.
How come? Well this app have chronically order feed, so it just takes few minutes for me to see all new and then I’m done. Until I check it hours later.
The way I was using Instagram in the beginning.
Another thing is that there is no ADS! And they wont add it either. This app will become ”pay to use” in the future. (If you don’t make one very fast)
And to honest, I think I’m for that. It let me not see stupid ads, then yea sure!
But I just like this app.
You know I wrote I stopped using social media. And I have not lied about that. But I do upload on Vero every 3 days. And To be honest, I get more likes there than I ever gotten on any other platform. Haha Even if it’s just a few.
And the reason I use it is because I’m not addicted to it. Check it now and then. Or even forget it all together.
Well you should check it out if you have not.
You can also follow me.
🌿Why you should have a sketchbook
I’m carrying a sketchbook with me everywhere now days. A A5 size. But if I use it or not is a different story.
To have a small sketchbook with you at all times is not bad. It’s great to have something to do while waiting in a waiting room to see a doctor. Or sit at a café.
I just need to pass over that lake that lets you do it.
I have little problem with that lake. I feel stupid when sketching in a waiting room.
But I rather do that instead of sitting with my phone like everyone else does. Also I would love to sketch more outdoors. But that lake is stopping me.
Having a sketchbook is probably the best thing an artist can get their hands on. And you don’t need the most expensive one. (Looking at you moleskin)
And the best of it all, you don’t have to show it to anyone! Not even your cat!You can be super messy in it as well. And you draw down you new ideas that is popping up in your head.
You have probably seen some people showing their perfect sketchbook. But like I wrote just now, you don’t have to.
A sketchbook is there to let the pen flow. No need to have that perfect stroke.
One thing that a sketchbook is good for me is to get over the ”perfectionism”. And not be hard on myself if something look off.
A place to let it go and have fun.
🌿My Art Journey
Been to the dentist this week. No anxiety when I get there. But I got a super big panic attack hours later. So big I had to take the medicine for it. And no more!
That medicine is making me tired. And I took it around 16. No good combo. But it did its thing.
And all my teeth were good too. 😊
I have been doing more watercolor paintings this week. I have decided to try to ”master” it. It looks so relaxing when others do it. I want to find something in the traditional medium I can have fun with.

For the Golden Eagle, I did the sketch digital, using me off Affinity Photo. Took a piece of regular copy paper on my Cintiq and traced it. After I took a graphite and just added darkness behind it. Put in my sketchbook and traced it again.
And then I started adding the watercolors. I will do this kind of thing more times. Maybe even make a video about it.
I don’t have a scanner so I cant print and paint.
And because I still had the digital sketch. Then I tried to do the same thing but digital. Using me of new watercolors brushes I recently bought. Will try the same, but with different subject with Rebelle next time.

(image 1) The tree I tried to follow few small steps in a new book I have ”Drawing the Natural World”. A video about it all will come in the future. And I just had fun with it. Not facing me to make it perfect. In the end I just loved it! 😁
(image 2) I think by now you understand that I love Jujutsu Kaisen. Well not long ago I drew Teen Gojo in casual clothing. So why not do the same with Sukuna? 😁
All done in Affinity Photo.

I learned something new! 🙌🏼
Downloaded the app and I'm liking the overall feel of the app. Fingers crossed for no DMs wanting vouchers, sending nudes or promotional stuff for crypto scams
