Endel: The Neuroscience-Backed App Helping Me Manage ADHD
How Endel Transformed My Focus and Sleep
This summer, I stumbled across a fantastic YouTube channel called ADHDVision, and through one of their videos, I was introduced to an app that has truly changed my life: Endel.
At first, I wasn't sure if Endel was for me. I downloaded the free version, which offers four basic soundscapes: Focus, Relax, Sleep, and Movement. My initial reaction? "Meh, I don't get the hype." The sounds didn’t immediately click, and I thought it wouldn’t help me. But after a week, I decided to give it an honest try, and that’s when everything changed. I loved it so much, I signed up for the yearly subscription to unlock all the soundscapes!
But what exactly is Endel?
Endel is an app that creates personalized soundscapes to help you focus, relax, and sleep, all backed by neuroscience. We all know that music can affect our mood lifting us up or dragging us down. But what happens when science meets sound? Endel uses a blend of scientific research and AI technology to generate real-time, personalized soundscapes tailored to your needs.
One of my initial concerns was the dreaded “sound loop” problem. If you’ve ever used apps like Calm, you’ve probably noticed that after a while, you can hear the same part of the track repeating. Once I hear that loop, it ruins the experience for me. I feared Endel would be the same, but I was completely wrong!
Endel’s soundscapes constantly evolve, they speed up, slow down, and shift in tone. You can even adjust the sounds to your liking, which means if you’re tired of one sound, you can simply tweak it. But the real magic? The ever-changing nature of the soundscapes means I never hear a loop. It’s seamless and immersive, keeping me in the flow.
What sold me even more on this app is its clear support for people with ADHD. The app highlights how these soundscapes can boost focus and productivity, and I can absolutely confirm that! With ADHD, it’s easy to get distracted, but Endel has helped me stay on task without overwhelming me.
My favorite soundscape is from the Relax section, a soothing mix of rain and wind. But you can customize it further, adding elements like thunder or a crackling campfire. Personally, the sound of rain and wind is incredibly calming for me. I also use the Sleep soundscapes every night, and it has truly improved my sleep quality. Before Endel, I’d struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep. Now, I fall asleep faster and stay asleep for about 80% of the night, which is huge for someone with anxiety and bad sleep habits.
When it comes to the Focus soundscapes, I often use them while writing, just like I am right now! Either I’ll use the dedicated Focus modes or something like brown noise. Honestly, I didn’t expect brown noise to work for me, but it has been a game changer for productivity.
While I still prefer regular music when I’m drawing (it sets the mood better for me), these soundscapes have made a noticeable difference in my overall productivity. The best part? No side effects. Unlike ADHD medication, which can sometimes bring unwanted side effects, Endel offers a natural, soothing alternative. Plus, in the long run, it’s more cost-effective.
It’s important to understand that Endel isn’t like regular music; it’s not here to entertain you. Instead, it’s designed to restore your focus, calm your mind, and help you unwind. Whether you're dealing with ADHD or just want a healthier way to manage stress and productivity, this app has something for everyone.
In short, I can’t recommend Endel enough. It’s become a crucial part of my daily routine, from boosting my focus while working to helping me wind down for better sleep. If you’re on the fence, give the free version a try, you might just be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
Big fan of Endel, been using it for years. I even paid the lifetime subscription because I use it so much
That is super helpful, Jezz! I’ve benefitted from brown noise, but not used it for a while. I might check this out!
