Hello Howlers!

I don’t only have my neighbors above me being noisy with loud music and arguing. But they also pour out beer on the balcony so it comes down to mine….

Now its smells and full of ants. My summer is super, how’s yours? 🫠

Few months of use: Macbook Pro

I have owned a MacBook Pro since March now. 16” M1 Max 10-Core CPU 32-core GPU, 32GB unified memory and 1TB SSD.
So with other words the higher end M1 Max.

One downside with this MacBook is the size, something many have said on YouTube etc. And even if I love the big screen size because I have bad vision. It’s still a pain to have it on you lap when you sitting in a sofa.

The good thing about MacBook over a iMac is that I can carry it with me everywhere, but I had to buy me a new backpack for that.
Over all performance is super! No lag or anything when I’m drawing. Even none when I screen record while drawing.

Not tested it for streaming yet.
Video editing I have not really seen a different compare to my older iMac, but I think it’s because of the cord to my External Harddrive that is the problem not the machine.
BUT the playback is much better than iMac. 🤯

I’m super happy that I bought this machine even if it cost me my life. And I got the Studio Display that also cost my life.
But the combo is just perfect!

Did test a BenQ monitor but I got headache seconds of looking on it because of the low nits it offer. Also the speakers on that thing was AWFUL! They should not have added those…….

But why did I not buy the newer 16” MacBook Pro with M2 Max chip? Well here in Sweden they rise the price heavy when they release something new. And M1 Max is still good option! Also it was on sale! 😁

Walks can help with Creativity

In recent years I have notice that going for a walk does not only give you a different perspective when you return to your project. But it also gives me ton of good ideas!

Not just for drawing, everything!
Example, just to write about this I came up with during a walk.
Walking is good for you health and you only need 20-30min of it each day. Even 10min is good! So don’t force yourself.

Going for a walk near trees etc even better!
Everyone needs a break from everything. If you drawing, working a desk job, we need fresh air now and then.

And I also own a dog so I need those walks no matter the weather.
There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes.😊
So what do you do when you out side doing an amazing walk in the forest or along a lake and get a super idea? Instead of keep thinking about it the whole way, write it down!

You can carry a small note book A6 size, and a small pencil and write that idea down right away.
Or use your phone with a note taking app.

I use quick notes with the app called Bear (Apple only). Have also tested Draft (sadly also only Apple). But I have seen people use Notion and Obsidian for these things as well. (And they are little more complicated)

Even default apps on your phone like ”Apple Notes” works just fine!

No matter what you use, You need to find the right one. Experiment. But don’t forget to write those idea down the moment you get them. Even if you are in bed ready to sleep! 😁

What new this week?

Been very creative this week, weird enough because I have had it rough.
But it’s a good thing I have art as a get away when it is rough. For some reason I get the most ideas when it happens.

For Sukuna fan art from Jujutsu Kaisen, Manga & Anime. I just wanted to draw him for ones. 😊

Howling Wolf is something I did because I wanted a pretty nice banner for this newsletter and I liked it so much so I might turn it into a print 😁 It also only done with vector.

Razor is my original character, and this is something I came up with after what happen recently near Titanic. A story will come. But that will come out first for my Patreons.

Spinosourus is something I did after a fellow substack uploaded a photo of his son who had Dino shirt on him. Asked what his favorites was, Spinosarous and T-Rex was the answer. So took what I learned from ”Fun Animal Character design” course I recently did.
