Hello friends!
I recently completed reading the biography about Tim Bergling aka Avicii. You know the very big DJ from Sweden that sadly left us too early.
I have never fully read a biography of any kind before. And this book was much hard for me to read compare to other Non-fiction books I read until then. Also its was in Swedish and I kind of prefer English.
Also it took me almost 2 months to read it.
I did enter very rock bottom period during this time, so I was unable to read because of that. But I kind of happy I did read just this book during this time. It kind of lift me up, made me think, I’m not alone!
Also happy that I did watch the series Dopesick on Disney Plus before I got somewhere in the book. It helped me understand what opioid’s did to you. Because of all the stress of touring did to Tim, doctors during this time (outside of Sweden) gladly gave strong pain reliever meds, like the one seen in Dopesick, Oxycotin.
Sweden had something else to give. And was the cause of death too. But they mostly give these meds if you about to die, today.
The thing is, after reading this book all his song is hitting differently for me. Sure I have always liked his songs. My favorite Album is ”Tim”. But now, that album will mean much more than just music to my ears. I know he struggle during those months of working on that album and that he never completed it. But family and others wanted it to come out.
And I’m happy they did. It’s his best work yet!
Also because of his struggles with mental health and his parents reading more about it, they started ”The Tim Bergling Foundation”. Sweden also renamed ”Ericsson Globe” to ”Avicii Arena” to honor him. And they also work a lot with young adult with mental health problems.
One more thing. If you having a rough time. Don’t hide it! Ask for help! You have no idea who will reach out and help you. 😊
So yes I do recommend you to read this book. Even if you are not fan of his music. The story about him is what’s counts.
(My little vector art of Tim, done after I completed reading the book)
Best regards
